Stark Community Support Network (SCSN) was incorporated in 1997 as Stark Social Workers Network (SSWN) by Ms. Beverly A. Jordan, a social worker and community activist. Built upon multi-cultural values hewn from the African – American experience, SCSN prides itself on using a communal and relationship-based approach to health and wellness and helping all in need. The core values of truth, balance, order, harmony, law, morality, and justice guide SCSNs activities.
SCSN’s purpose is to reach those who are underserved and to provide support and access to opportunities and services, as necessary. Using the guiding principles of family and community, SCSN provides services and assistance that identifies needs, links individuals and families to community-based services, and supports individuals and families on the path to health and wellness.
To reflect our vision and goals more clearly, SCSN’s name was changed in 2019 to demonstrate our three-fold ‘Identify, Link, and Support’ methodology. Proudly, we are a neighborhood, community-based organization linked to a community of care that identifies services and opportunities to help individuals and families overcome barriers.
